We are travelin’ to South Africa and we were recommended Kruger National Park. As I was informed, it is a large area and we are to find a camp to stay. We would like to watch game and enjoy the beauty of nature. What is the best camp in Kruger National Park? We can’t walk over 300km in quest for a camp.

Kruger National park is what South Africa is famous for. Many tourists come to visit it but few of them decide to camp there because they are afraid of animals. They visit the park for a day and leave. You have no reason to worry. The camps are well protected and the animals are guided. There are about 20 camps and I don’t know which one I should recommend. However, this number is not final. Those are rest camps and those private and bushveld ones are not included in the number. My advice is to take a rest camp. They are placed on different sites.

Rest camps are OK in my opinion because they are bigger than the private ones and can accommodate larger groups of people. If you are staying in Kruger national park with your family, you would be alone in a private camp and that is not desirable even though camps are protected very well. I think that larger camps are safer. There are a few of them you can ask accommodation at: Crocodile Bridge Restcamp, Olifants Restcamp or Skukuza Restcamp. There are more of them, but I didn’t remember their names. If you decide on Crocodile Bridge Camp, make sure to bring some food because it lacks a restaurant.

Kruger National Park is the largest game reserve in South Africa. The Kruger National Park is divided into six eco-systems: Baobab sandveld, Mopane scrub, Lebombo knobthorn-marula bushveld, mixed acacia thicket, Combretum-silver clusterleaf woodland on granite and riverine forest. Altogether it has roughly 1,982 species of plants.Out of the 517 species of birds found at Kruger, 253 are residents, 117 non-breeding migrants, and 147 nomads.

The Kruger National Park has 21 rest camps, as well as 7 private lodge concessions, and 11 designated private safari lodges. The concessions are parcels of land operated by private companies in partnership with communities, who outsource the operation of private lodges.

Nine different trails are on offer in the Kruger National Park. Some are overnight and the last several days in areas of wilderness are virtually untouched by humans. There are no set trails in the wilderness areas; a visitor walks along paths made by animals or seeks out new routes through the bush.
