I would like to visit Saudi Arabia and I intend to stay in Riyadh its capital. I know that this country is situated in desert regions and in my frame of mind that means that the weather is constantly hot. Can you tell me what the best time to visit Riyadh is? I would like to be able to go sightseeing and avoid sunburns.

It is true that this city is situated in the central part of the Arabian Peninsula and that it is in the desert areas but you will be surprised to hear that rainfalls still occur there. There are even some times when hail can occur. This means that you will surely be able to choose the most suitable time of the year to visit this city. It is true that summers are pretty hot and I would suggest you to avoid July and August. But on the other hand early spring is perfect for sightseeing and that is my suggestion.

I have heard that winters in this city are comparatively cool and if you can’t stand hot weather maybe you can try visiting it during the winter months. There is no way that you can get sunburns if you go during the summer. I can’t tell you the exact temperatures which you can expect but what is certain, it won’t be sizzling hot then. According to an article temperatures in July can even reach 45C which is if you ask me, unbearable. You don’t have to worry that this can happen in winter.

Well, people who want to travel to desert regions should know that it is hot there and that is one of the main characteristic features of desert. So, get used to it as sightseeing in during the heat has its charm. Staying in a city like Riyadh when it is hot is very interesting and you should feel the atmosphere. I don’t know how interesting it can be to travel to some hot areas in winter or vice versa. It loses some of its authenticity.

The best time to visit Saudi Arabia would be from the month of November to the month of February. It is quite pleasant during these months and you can very comfortably tour the fascinating place of Riyadh during this time. It is because of this mild climate that one should visit Riyadh during this time.

There are also thunderstorms that occur in the evenings in the months from November to February. This makes the evenings cooler and therefore enjoyable. If you are considering the time as to when to visit Riyadh then this would be suitable indeed.
