My wife, my kids (three of them) and my aunt are going to Tanzania. We are traveling there for family safari and we want to visit Kruger National Park as one of the most famous parks in Tanzania. However, we are not sure what time to choose for our visit. What is the right time for family safari in Kruger National Park?

The best time to visit Kruger National Park and watch wildlife is the winter season. The winter season in Tanzania is dry. The vegetation is low and there is nothing that could omit your view. The temperatures are quite pleasant during the dry season though rain is also possible even in winter. That’s why I suggest you book in winter because this season is also known as safari season and most tourists come to the park then. Animals are going to drink water twice a day and people can see them in herds in the morning as well as in the evening.

The best time to make a family safari trip in Tanzania is winter. In the summer nothing can be seen because the view is interrupted by lush forests. Everything is flourishing and the grass and the leaves are so dense that it is difficult to walk around. Animals can easily hide and you cannot locate them. During the summer season, all the holes are full of water. However, if you like to watch the newborn animals, you can go to Kruger Nationla Park in December, but it’s summer season as far as I know.

The Kruger National Park has 21 rest camps, as well as 7 private lodge concessions, and 11 designated private safari lodges. The concessions are parcels of land operated by private companies in partnership with communities, who outsource the operation of private lodges.

Nine different trails are on offer in the Kruger National Park. Some are overnight and the last several days in areas of wilderness are virtually untouched by humans. There are no set trails in the wilderness areas; a visitor walks along paths made by animals or seeks out new routes through the bush.
