What to watch for at Cairo Airport?

Hello! There's one thing I'm curious about. A friend of mine is about to fly to Cairo, in about a week. The thing is, we've heard that the Cairo Airport is a proud owner of the title "notorious". Have you heard such an info, is it true? If it is, then why? What does the Cairo Airport lack? Any ideas?

Hi! Im not sure what are your expectations, but everything in Egypt is quite strange to us. Airport officers are I might say, hard to communicate. The only advice for you could be to behave cautious. Airport hotel is also hard to bear. Food is, how can I say it, awful. The rooms are dirty and bathrooms are full of stains. And service Oh, I dont remember any service while I was there.

Cairo International Airport is the busiest airport in Egypt and the primary hub for Star Alliance member EgyptAir. The airport is located to the north-east of the city around 15 km from the business area of the city.
