Where to stay in Pemba Island?

There are two options that I have as possible staying places if I go to Pemba Island and because this is my first time that I have visited a place like this one I don’t know which of the two is a better choice because every time that you have to choose between the two one will be much better then the other. I think that this is something you might be able to help with if you went to a hotel or some kind of private stay here.

Hotel is always the best option if this is your first time going to some place. I remember when I was visiting one place; it is really not important which one, for the first time and I didn’t choose a hotel. It happened so that after just a couple of days, although I have paid for everything well in advance I had to move out of my private stay because that was just unbearable and I can say that hotel was the only other option that I was facing at that moment. I also think that one of the ways that you can make sure that you get what you are paying for is when you have larger corporations standing behind what you are buying and this is a case with hotels.

This might be true and I would always rather go to a hotel if I don’t know anything about private sector that is offering accommodation in the place of your choice, but when we talk about Pemba Island I can say that you have a wide variety of choice for accommodation. This is one some third rate island where you have only a couple of places that you can stay. When you are faced with this kind of option then you have no option rather then the one that is offered to you and if you have no competition then you have nothing to count on as a back up plan. You have what you have and that is it. I hope that you are following me here, but when it comes to Pemba Island you have a choice and private sector is always cheaper, but I am not saying that this means that services are also cheap.

Pemba is also famous for its rich fishing grounds. Between the island and the mainland there is the deep 20 miles wide Pemba channel, which is one of the most profitable fishing grounds for game fishing on the East African coast.
