I guess there is not a person in the world that would not like to visit Brazil and Rio. Samba, soccer, festivals, beaches and beautiful girls, an average guy does not need anything else. Anyway, I am lucky enough to have a decent job so I saved some money to head for Rio next month. All I need to know is where to stay in Rio de Janeiro?

In your case, I would recommend an Oceano Copacabana hotel. It seems to me that you are interested in fun more than luxury, so this three star rated place should be perfect. Very close to the famous Copacabana beach, one night costs around 74 dollars (of course, not in the time of festivals and this goes for the standard room with breakfast). But even though it is not some fancy hotel, please have in mind that you will be spending most of the time outside of it. At least I did.
