Which is the closest airport to Riviera Maya in Mexico?

My husband and have just started to plan this summer vacations. We have different opinions on where to go. He is all for Europe, western countries tour, which does sound attractive, but I am more for some place I could rest for a while and jut enjoy. Somehow, all that non stop traveling through Europe sounds tiring, so I am thinking more of Mexico. Which is the closest airport to Riviera Maya in Mexico? I heard it is a great place and I need to know how far it is from an airport.

From here, you go to the Riviera Maya via the coastal highway that connects the city of Cancun with Tulum, and there is another one connecting the cities of Tulum and Coba. As for transport, you have buses, rental cars or taxis. I also heard that it is like a heaven on earth, Riviera Maya, I mean. So, leave Europe for some other time and enjoy in Mexico.
